Tofu Hummus Wrap

Updated: Jan 25, 2021

The original idea of this wrap was from Simha! He once made this for our lunch. And I loved the idea of using tofu slabs in our wraps thereafter. Not only is it a good source of protein, but it makes the wrap tasty and filling too!

You will need:

Tofu slabs:

Oil:

olive/vegetable/canola

Tofu:

firm/ extra firm (cut into slabs)

Seasonings:

soy sauce

chilli oil

oregano

thyme

rosemary

onion powder

garlic powder

salt

Method:

Heat up oil in a skillet. Place tofu slabs gently on to the skillet. Add the seasonings per your taste. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes on medium to high heat. Flip it and cook the other side as well. You could roast it to your desired texture.

Wrap:

Base:

Any kind of wraps would work here. Regular/whole wheat/tomato/spinach.

Hummus:

regular/roasted red pepper/any kind (I used regular/plain)

Veggies:

1 small tomato chopped (or cherry tomatoes)

1 small carrot shredded

greens/microgreens (I used watercress from my Gardyn, you could use lettuce, spinach, kale)

black olives

green olives

jalepenos (fresh or pickled)

banana peppers (pickled)

You could use ANY veggies! Avocados, cucumbers, bell peppers, sweet peppers, purple cabbage work well too!

Assemble:

You could heat up the wraps on a skillet or toaster oven. Apply hummus on it. And then gradually add in all the toppings including tofu slabs and veggies. Fold them tight into a wrap. Cut them in half and serve.

ENJOY!
