Badam Halwa (Indian dessert with almond flour)

I usually use almond flour for baking goods and one day I used it to make Indian desserts. To my surprise it tastes quite close to a traditional dessert, without the long process and is done in just minutes!

This is not as greasy and sweet like a traditional dessert. I would say it is more like a healthy version of badam halwa.

You will need:

3 tsp ghee

1 tbsp cashews broken

1 tbsp raisins

1/4 cup sugar (I used brown)

1/4 cup milk (could use water)

1 cup almond flour

2 cardamom pods (crushed in mortar pestle)

4-5 strands of saffron

Method:

In a pan heat up ghee. Saute raisins and cashews. Once they turn slightly brown, add sugar and milk along with cardamom and saffron. Once that starts boiling, mix in the almond flour. Keep stirring till it starts separating from the pan and finally comes together like a dough. That is when you know you are done!

ENJOY!
